Food + Drink

Food and Drink : Dry Dock, Leeds – Not just 25p chicken wings.

Nestled in-between university buildings and busy roads lies Dry Dock – a boat-turned-bar which provides a student haven. With cheap prices, an extensive drinks menu and several offers & activities running throughout the week; it’s not hard to see why Dry Dock is so popular with the student population of Leeds.

The converted barge provides a downstairs bar area where drinkers can make the most of the open layout. Several TV screens are dotted around the room, with some complete with PlayStation 4’s and FIFA. Upstairs is an outside seating area where you can bask in the sunshine (providing there is some) and relax. This leads on to a small grassed area where you can also enjoy your hard-earned bevs –  all in all, a good environment for a piss-up.

On Mondays, they give double points on their loyalty card scheme meaning you receive 20 points per £1 spent. 200 points equates to £2 worth of food or drink, not bad. They also host a FIFA tournament on Mondays from 9pm. Wing Wednesdays at Dry Dock are also a god-sent. 25p per chicken wing complete with a wide range of sauces provides a perfect surrounding for a gluttonous student.

On Thursdays, it’s Craft and Cocktail night. From 5pm all cocktail glasses, Tin Cans, pints of craft, cask pints and bottles of beer are £3. Tin Cans are the drinks you love in the cans you know. Some tequila in your San Pellegrino? Rum in your Old Jamaica? I think so. I would also highly recommend abusing cocktails whilst they are cheap. Sundays provide a Clash of Cans where all cans of craft, cider cans and Tin Cans are £3 from 5pm. Nice.

The house wine is £8.50 a bottle so no complaints can be made there. Food is reasonably priced and they also offer a ‘burger and drink’ deal before 7pm.

Go check it out for yourself. Dry Dock is situated across the road from Leeds Beckett Library and provides a friendly and chill atmosphere to have a few drinks with your mates.
