RGM Presenter Ellie Colton is on the hunt to meet and get to know the best-unsigned artists around, in this post she gets to know the very talented Edited People
I sit down with Leeds based band Edited people in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. As you can see IT WAS RAINING CATS AND DOGS at the time of filming 🙂 But the show must go on!
These guys were all set to support BANG BANG ROMEO this year at The Wardrobe in Leeds, and then Coronavirus happened, but all is not lost.
The bands brand new tune ‘Natural Disaster’ will be released on September 2nd after having re branded themselves as a band completely earlier this year.
They are becoming more alt-pop than alt-rock, and you can certainly hear that in their soon to be released tune, which I joked could be about climate change.
During lockdown these guys have been anything but quiet, putting out amazing covers with super unique musical arrangements like their take on Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’, Pat Benetar’s ‘Love is a battlefield’ and Patti Smith’s ‘Because the night’. All of which you need to check out on their YouTube.
This year they intend to focus on growing their socials, engaging with fans, and writing even better songs than before. Have a watch as we talk through new music, cancelled gigs, optimistic futures, wet muffs (yes really) and what the rest of 2020 holds for them.
