Italian duo Armonite comprised of Paolo Fosso and Jacopo Bigi, both accomplished and classically trained musicians, have recently released an intriguing and unusual album titled, “And the Stars Above”. The 15 track musical celebration is a journey to orgasmic bliss, insanity and back again. I can only describe it as riveting, similar to a powerful volcanic eruption or a blizzard avalanche into the abyss. Regardless it is a true force of nature.
Paolo Fosso is the composer of the songs as well as key board and pianist, while Jacopo Bigi plays the electronic and acoustic violin. Their efforts together tend to put the listener into a trance of inspiration.
Having formed while in college and then splitting up after only one album, the two rejoined in 2015 and have been making music since under the same original name of Armonite. Their newest release is a prize. You have 10,000 tastebuds, and they will all leave musically happy after experiencing this album.
A true joy to the music industry, “And the Stars Above” is a sonic anomaly. It’s a brace attempt at turning the world on to classic music through synthetic alternative rock and passion. It’s emotional and authentic and it breathes spirit and adventure. The album is filled with positive sensations, whimsical aftermaths and vibrant excitement. It is especially interesting for those who thrive on video games as evidenced in the tract “Insert Coin”. My personal favorite is the leading song, “The March of the Stars”.
This album is an essential must for your playlist. It contains superb and sophisticated music while being unique and at times even relaxing. At times it sounds like an entire Orchestra behind it. Whatever your musical tastes are you will enjoy the endears of Armonite.
