First thoughts on Juze’sWish You Weren’t Here? The dynamics throughout the track are incredible and it continuously builds. A polished pop track with an immersive soundscape built to leave listeners dancing away in their little bubble, Netherlands based artist Juze creates music that everyone should have in their playlist.
Bringing you up to speed on Juze’s background, this is an artist that knows what he’s talking about. Having worked with songwriters such as Kelly Roland, Skrillex, Chris Brown, French Montana, and produced remixes for pop icon Ed Sheeran and AURORA, Juze certainly knows all the paths of the music industry. Now taking centre stage in his own spotlight, this artist truly deserves his own pedestal and stardom.
While the lyricism isn’t as adventurous as the instrumentation, the lyrics for ‘Wish You Weren’t Here’ are somewhat predictable. The overall arrangement however, isn’t. An energetic performance throughout with a smooth production suited for the charts, Juze’s memorable single isn’t complex and does the job. Feeling slightly robotic in places and heavily following a constant structure, in places, it does feel TOO polished.
Best described as like something you’d hear off Eurovision that you don’t particularly want to like, but it still finds a place in your heart.
