It’s been 6 months since the seeds were sown for what has become ComRock Records, formed out of the already existing and successful gig promotions company ComRock Promotions and promotion and gig review site Up in’t Smoke, the team of Label managers Steve and Joel and Media Manager Aiden have been working tirelessly to create what we hope will become a successful relevant independent record label ready to take on the constantly changing landscape that is the music industry two decades into the 21st century.
Our aim is to work with and nurture some of the best emerging musical talent, Communication Through Music is our strap line but we also believe in Community Through Music and we like to think of the team and our acts as a family and we are involved in some exciting collective live collaborations.
They have a working a roster of 4 acts that we are working with at various stages with releases coming out or working towards releasing material from The Voques an Indie band who have a great sound, great live show and extremely fun guys to work with, their first single with the label will be out by January. They are also working with lead Singer Myles Henderson on an exciting side project in the next few months.
Their youngest signing is the superb singer/songwriter Rachael Webster who has already cemented a reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the live circuit and is now working on a video for her single “The One” and putting together a backing band for her Pop Punk full band sound you can hear on her EP out on the label now.
Representing the more alternative side of the label are noisy grunge/pysch rockers Fluorescent who have a string of noisy/sweaty and extremely well received gigs, they are going into the studio very soon to record their debut single for the label which will be out in early 2019.
Last but not least are Electro/Rock duo Sub Machine who have a unique fresh sound they can be described as Talking Heads meets 90’s Ninja Tunes! Their debut single “Life” has just been released and will be on the airwaves very very soon. The band have played some superb gigs around Sheffield and will be heading further afield as well as some taking some big support slots in the not too distant future. They will be working on their debut album very soon as well as further single releases coming soon.
