Punk Couture – Little Bird

Little Bird

She says you can tell a lot about someone from the animal they wish to be,
She wants to be a bird,
Flying from place to place,
Seeing nature from a literal view,
She asks what animal I am but I don’t know,
She soars putting my number with the others she collects like breadcrumbs,
I must have been an elephant because I could not forget her,
Or the kiss or the sex or the time,
But now I am water flowing past her,
She is but a memory of who she pretends to be,
Stuck in the same place only changing who is around her,
I am the one who is free because birds do not know how to swim,
Eat your crumbs Little Bird,
Pretend they are important,
Pretend they are enough
