RGM Introducing – Liamosino

Hiya mate take a seat and thanks for joining us today. What is the unsigned scene in Birmingham like at the minute?

The scene is really strong at the moment, full of really creative unreal musicians

What good bands are coming out of Birmingham at the minute?

Loads, The Cosmics are the ones people maybe most familiar with, they are incredible and well worth checking out. My other favourites are Cave Girl, Bad Girlfriend, Nonsuch, The Devil and Saint Joseph and Doxa.

What support is out there for new artists in Birmingham?

There is a definite split in Birmingham between venues and promoters that really support new bands and those that have been exploiting bands for years, especially those just starting out. The likes of This is Tmrw, Killer Wave, Kaleidoscope and Setting Son are ones that are all about supporting people and giving opportunities, whilst bringing incredible national and international bands to the city.

What was the most fun you have had on stage?

My band Brain Food put on an all dayer on at the radest venue in Birmingham, The Night Owl.

What was the worst experience on stage?

You learn from all experiences

Whats your biggest achievement?

It’s got to be starting my events/promoters company Kaleidoscope with my band Brain Food. Working closely on two things we are all passionate about is amazing. We have managed to get some of our favourite bands to come and play for us.

Its strange times at the min with the virus almost stopping the whole live music scene in uk and abroad, how do you plan to stay productive while we get through this?

Just before lockdown I released an EP with Brain Food, I’ve been writing and recording solo stuff and will be releasing an EP through Setting Son Records in the summer. Like most, I have also been perfecting my baking skills.

Tell me about your new single and  how it came about?

It came from a vision I had one morning whilst mixing lockdown brownies. I tested it on my neighbours from my balcony, needless to say they were gassed. I recorded it by lunchtime and sent it across to Mark at Megatone Studios and had it back by bedtime.

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
