Armed with not only one of the craziest stage names but also songwriting, there’s nothing idiotic about Saint Idiot. Back with latest avant-garde offering, ‘Warp & Weft’ uses modulated synthesisers and complex instrumentation to convey its complicated message. Lyrically, the track is about we naturally interweave with people who surround us – or in a nutshell, how we’re influenced by the people that we’re surrounded by.
Taken off a forthcoming album, the track feels like the offspring to some of your favourite experimental artists. Imagine Björk collaborating with the late great David Bowie to create a masterpiece – it would sound ver similar to Saint Idiot’s latest single. Accompanied with an enchanting music video that doesn’t leave you behind, Saint Idiot doesn’t just have aesthetic music but also visuals too.
If you’re not into music that will leave you questioning and slightly puzzled, this isn’t probably for you. On the other hand, if you’re interested in music that escapes boundaries and relies on itself, ‘Warp & Weft’ is your saviour. Charming in all the right places, I personally think this is one of the strongest releases to have graced June simply because it requires you to be engrossed and vulnerable.
